All Saints Church Owston Flower Festival 2012
Friday 13th, Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July 2012
Open 10am – 5pm
Flower Festival time is here again. Hasn’t the time flown since Christmas!
Thank you to all who take part in the festival, it is very much appreciated and I think this adds to the praise of God: for this church has stood for over 800 years as a symbol of living faith.
Enjoy your visit to our beautiful 12th century church, look around the displays, feel the journey’s the arrangers have chosen and when you leave Owston after sampling our refreshments, take our love and friendship with you.
Thank you for your support.
Yours in friendship,
Rita Jones (Festival Chairman)
A Welcome from the Vicar
As you look around our Flower Festival this year, you may be reminded of journeys that you have made or perhaps would like to make. Some displays may depict famous journeys – either fact or fiction – some may be of everyday routine journeys, whilst others a trip of a lifetime. We hope that in making a journey to Owston today you will leave feeling that you have travelled further afield through tales of others.
But, we hope that you will leave with more than that, because this church has been here for over 800 years and if it could speak, would be able to tell many tales of God’s involvement in people’s journeys through life – the biggest journey that all of us make. Here, people have known God’s love through baptisms, weddings, funerals, worship and fellowship, concerts, open days etc., and we hope that you too will feel that love before you leave.
Wonderful 3 course lunches, sandwiches and afternoon tea, homemade strawberry flans and cakes available. Bookings for 3 course lunches can be made with Beryl or Rita on 01302 726381.
Stalls, tombola, raffle drawn before Sunday evening service.
Come and enjoy our beautiful Grade I listed building, feel the peace and tranquility. listen to the music, singing and enjoy our wonderful fellowship and refreshments. Everyone welcome.
